Leadership:

Charles M. Stromme

President
541-357-7680
cmstromme@thestrommegroup.com

Charles "Chuck" Stromme retired from a distinguished career with the Internal Revenue Service in 2001. His IRS work included overseas assignments in Guam, Saipan and Macedonia. Four days after retiring he began his next career as an international tax advisor. That work took him to Tbilisi, Georgia and Yerevan, Armenia, where he worked for nearly four years advising those governments in his area of expertise. For his work in Georgia he was awarded the Georgian Medal of Honor, the highest civilian award of the Republic of Georgia, presented by then-President Eduard Shevardnadze. Chuck was the first non-Georgian recipient ever.

Chuck served as an infantry officer and helicopter pilot in the United States Army, including one year in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division. Chuck has a 70% “permanent and total” service-connected disability rating from the VA. His life experiences have given him a desire to honor and work with other disabled veterans.

Chuck and his wife Edythe share a passion for their charity, CCR Fund (Caucasus Children's Relief Fund) and they invite you to participate. Chuck's other interests include an impressive Russian militaria collection, gardening and writing. He is a novice but devoted woodturner and woodworker.

Edythe A. Stromme

Vice President

Edythe is a discerning, creative force on the TSG executive team. She also keeps the rest of us on task and moving forward. Her work as a board member and active team leader is invaluable and without it we'd be lost!

Her work for CCR Fund, the charity we support says so much about her character and compassion. She is the President of CCR Fund and has her arm around one of "our children" illustrates the heart of why we do what we do. It truly is all about the children. Edythe is responsible for not only most of the paperwork required of an organization like CCR Fund, but she also continues to set the tone and spirit for the work. It is not unusual to find her working with church, civic groups or companies to raise awareness of the plight of the Georgian children. She works tirelessly to provide for their needs - also traveling as often as she can to the orphanages to assist.

Edythe's interests also include writing and gardening (she is a "Master Gardener"). You can find her writing on: "WriteNow" a site devoted to the art of writing.

Ransom Southerland

Vice President
Information Technologies

ransom@thestrommegroup.com

Ransom served in Germany (flying OH-13s, CH-34s and CH-37s) and Vietnam as a Chinook helicopter pilot. His interests include woodworking, amateur radio (KD7ZU), music, writing and politics as well as aviation. Weekly activities include long-term participation in groups at the local "Vet Center" and vibrant family life (four children, 13 grand children and one great grand son) Sound busy? It is . . .

The Southerland "farm" (five acres located in the Mohawk Valley, northeast of Eugene) keeps everyone busy with time spent in the garden (wife Tami loves to get her hands dirty) and driving the John Deere 4600. Their barn-turned-woodshop has been a source of solace and has produced lots of family and friend keepsakes.

Ransom's educational and work history include a degree from Valley College (Southern California), undergraduate work at Boise State University and continuing studies in Health Administration/Health Information Systems. A technology consultant to companies like Visions Technology in Education, AutoPros National Distribution Center and Scofield Electric Corporation (a Prime and Sub-Contractor of electrical and design-build services with a Pacific NW footprint). Ransom brings 35 years of business management experience and 25 years of technology development to our team and is involved in every phase of our business.

Andy Hirshfield

Vice President
Safe Installations
541-357-7680
andy@thestrommegroup.com

Andy is a retired museum facilities director. Alongside his work in the museum, he restored antiques, was an active cabinet and furniture maker and developed his art as a talented woodturner. At the museum one of his many responsibilities included that of Cal-OSHA compliance officer. He has agreed to work with TSG as we begin the pilot phase of our "RecRehab" project as our "Safe Installations" Director. Perhaps one of the most important ingredients Andy brings to the mix is that he did a tour in South Vietnam as a boots-on-the ground, 11B soldier. Andy, you have our thanks!

We are committed to safety in the workshop and the woodshop and he knows a great deal about that. Andy will make sure that our RecRehab shops start and stay safe. He is also enthusiastic about working with disabled Veterans who have an interest in woodworking. He'll add an important level of safety review and woodworking knowledge to our projects and is a critical thinker who adds his years of experience to our thought processes.

Jeremy Lockwood

Network Administration

Jeremy works tirelessly to keep our servers, email and internal networks alive and functioning. He is technically proficient as a programmer and administrator and is also a strong part of the site design team responsible for the domains and internal sites we support.

He has been programming since he was sixteen years old and is one of the most intuitive problem solvers we've ever seen anywhere. Networks and technology require 24/7 reliability and that's something we never have to worry about.

Jeremy lives in Washington state with his wife Lindsey and their two dogs. He is active in his family and has been a tremendous support of efforts to honor veterans. We couldn't do this work without his commitment, experience and leadership.
